Merlin is a senior software architect and work package leader for the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme funded ECHO project (European network of Cybersecurity centres and competence Hub for innovation and Operations) project. As work package leader Merlin guides a large consortium of partners in the delivery of an Early Warning System; a security operations support tool to enable coordination and sharing of cyber-sensitive information across organizational boundaries.

He began his career in concurrent design, mainly in support of the CDP (Concurrent Design Platform) of which version 4 has been released to its customers. The CDP is RHEA’s application in support of the concurrent design methodology in full compliance with ECSS-E-TM-25 Annex A.

As the technical lead for MARVL (Model bAsed Requirements Verification Lifecycle), a project in the frame of the ESA TRP program, he has guided a team of experts to provide an advanced model-based information exchange and reviewing platform between ESA and LSI.

Merlin has also been active as a technical lead for NATO projects, and as a software architect in the RHEA Cyber Security Center of Excellence to deliver a collaborative cyber-incident management system for distributed CERTs.

His experience spans multiple software languages (e.g. Microsoft c#, Java 8+); back tier technologies (PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch, MongoDB, Neo4J) as well as containerization deployment management (Docker, Kubernetes).
